Far Out There: 8 Enjoyable Outdoor Activities to Experience While High

People that spend more time in nature or green spaces, such as local parks, are much more likely to have better physical and mental health. While you may not think you’re the outdoorsy type, it may just be that you’ve never done it in the right state of mind – high.

Are you interested in getting into nature for some outdoor activities, but you’re not sure if it’s something you’d enjoy? Maybe you’re uncomfortable with the idea of going out into the world without a plan, or maybe you just can’t come up with any solid ideas.

The good news is that it doesn’t have to be so complicated. There are many simple things that you can do, even today, to have outdoor fun while you’re high.

Check out these 8 ideas for super fun outdoor activities you can do when you’re stoned.

1. Go on a Nature Walk

The simplest way to get outside is to just walk around. You can walk down the street, walk to your local park, or walk to a nature preserve. Whatever is around you and is accessible is where you can go!

If you want to really get into nature, try to avoid going to any busy streets that other people may be on. You may even want to look up some local trails that aren’t paved just to get the full experience.

2. Head Out for a Hike

Hiking high is a lot of fun not only because you get to control your speed and the length of the hike, but also because you can spend a lot of time just enjoying the nature around you.

Spending time in nature is fun when you’re high, and with a hike, you get to explore a whole new area!

A lot of people prefer to roll joints to use when hiking, but if you’re looking for something that would be easier to put out while you’re on the trail in case someone passes by, a portable vaporizer or a pipe may be a better option.

3. Take a Swim

While this is a little more active than what some of you may want to do, swimming while high can actually be a lot of fun.

Do you know that cannabis reduces your anxiety because it interacts with the endocannabinoid system? Have you also heard the phrase “runner’s high”?

If so, you can only imagine how great it would be if you combined the two!

Of course, take caution when swimming while high. If you feel like you’re too high to do it, or it might be a bad idea for safety reasons, you may want to give it a try another time.

4. Stare at the Stars

If you want to be outside at nighttime when you’re high, this can be a great time to do some stargazing. You can lay on your back outside to look at the stars or invest in a telescope to make the experience even more enlightening.

While you’re looking into space, you can also space out to some great tunes. Pick your favorite playlist, or take a look at our curated selection of albums to prepare beforehand.

5. Try Some Outdoor Yoga

Stretching your body feels amazing when you’re high. You can get all of those endorphins flowing by doing a very simple yoga routine on your own or with friends. Feel free to bring your yoga mat outside or just use the natural grass. Either way, you’re going to have fun, and it’ll make your body feel great (even when you’re not high).

If you want to join other yogis on Sunday mornings, check out the SoL Events page for our yoga schedule.

6. Relax at the Beach

If you want to be outside, but don’t actually want to do anything… this is probably going to be your best bet. Make your way over to the local beach, set up your gear, and just relax.

You can enjoy the sound of the waves and catch some vitamin D all while relaxing to the max. If you do decide you want to do something, feel free to take a quick walk around or even bring some outdoor games to play with your friends.

7. Have an Outdoor Movie Night

Another option for an outdoor activity at night is to set up your very own movie theater. With a DIY projector and a white sheet, you can easily watch your favorite movies under the stars.

It can be a lot of fun to set up an area with an outdoor rug, some comfy pillows, and maybe even a blanket or two. Feel free to enjoy the movie alone or invite your friends to tag along! Even if they don’t partake, it’s still going to be a fun time.

If you’re struggling to come up with your own movie ideas, don’t worry – we have a great selection for you to check out.

8. Have a Picnic

This is another option for people that want to be outdoors, but aren’t sure that they really want to do a lot of activity. Pack a picnic up before you head out and bring a blanket that you don’t mind getting a little dirty.

Be sure to bring plenty of water with you and just take some time to chill out while snacking on your favorite grub.
